Purpose: To state the College policy regarding smoking and clarify its implications for the Library
Scope: This policy applies to the Marygrove College community
Statement of Policy
Marygrove College provides a smoke-free working environment for health-related reasons. The College policy is outlined in detail on pages 55-56 in the Marygrove College Employee Handbook. In essence, the policy states that there is to be no smoking anywhere inside of any buildings - including rest rooms. Smoking is restricted to designated areas outside of the buildings. Smokers have been provided with designated smoking areas outside of the buildings. Persistent violators [of the policy] will be subject to serious disciplinary action. Administrative and Employee Services advises that violations by student assistants who work in the library could include termination of employment.
